If you are unable to visit a medical specialist in person – perhaps they are in Perth and you can’t travel – we can help you set up a telehealth appointment with that specialist.
Telehealth uses videoconferencing to connect you with your specialist, so you can access the clinical services you need without having to travel far. One of our doctors or nurses will attend the appointment with you.
How does telehealth work?
When you attend a telehealth appointment at Denmark Medical Center, we take care of co-ordinating the appointment with the specialist, providing relevant clinical information and documenting the consultation in your medical file. All you need to do is show up to our practice.
Examples of common telehealth appointments:
Pre-surgical review
Post-surgical progress
Ongoing reviews of clinical conditions
What are the benefits of telehealth?
The main reason that telehealth exists is to help regional patients – like those living in Denmark, Walpole and surrounds – to access medical specialists without having to travel. It’s designed to help you save both time and money.
It is important to note that telehealth is not suitable or appropriate in all circumstances. If you would like to use telehealth, first speak with your specialist to see if it is a service they offer.
